I did a range of tests with Deepmotion, including using video of iclone character motion as source footage and I have to say I was not very happy with the results. While I’m sure, if they keep refining it, it will get more accurate. At present the head, leg and arm movement response to the source material is not sufficiently accurate to be a useful tool for iclone, you will end up spending so much time manually correcting sliding or erratic twitches that it’s quicker to use/modify stock iclone motions. I was really keen to see this work because the concept is great, but unfortunately at present it’s not there. The fact that they presently allow 2 mins per month of free animation output, means I’ll periodically revisit to checkout their development progress, but for me there is no way it warrants a subscription at present. I would be very interested to hear other people’s experience with it.
cheers,
Tony
