Of course it can be done, but as with anything else it depends on your skill levels, your equipment, and your goals. In particular we'd have to know whether you are looking to do this in 2D or 3D, and with what software. For me it would be something I could do in less than an hour using iClone. Can't be done at all in Crazytalk. What more could we tell you about such a project that would help you?

Long long time ago I made a musical act with me singing 3 voices, that I like to animate now in CA4 pipeline version in sort of similar way and from there on extend it to dixielandband/jugband kind of animations. Both 2d and 3 d is fine, I guess. Skills? Just started and find it aready hard to handle Facebook, ha ha. But in the end I probably will learn. Anyway, being retired I need to keep myself occupied. Earlier you said you had no time to do anything out of the ordinary, like making a jugbandgroup for me that I can reuse over and over again? But if you do or know somebody.... 76% of original size (was 660x19) - Click to enlargeBy the way: is it possible to directly answer in the email or preferably by the usergoup? Are there any exemples of multiple characters in one scene? 76% of original size (was 660x19) - Click to enlarge

You must have been talking with someone else -- I never said I couldn't do anything out of the ordinary (now -- it's TRUE, but I never said it :>). If you want to use CTA then I'd recommend getting the webcam facial animation package, so you can then perform for each of the characters. Then at that point your only challenge is to actually get the characters to use (well, you'll also have to struggle with learning and/or obtaining body motions, because you can't just have the faces talk by themselves convincingly). Making the characters in 2D is above my pay grade (this is where 3D really helps, as it's easy to generate your own characters with Character Creator and they are already rigged for animation - the 2D character rigging for such is ENORMOUSLY and OVERLY complicated, IMHO. You might be able to buy such characters, or at least cobble them together from bought parts but, again, outside of my expertise). (As for email answers -- you have to know the person you are asking, of course. You can use the RL system to email someone and ask them for their personal email address, but doing so limits you to that person, whereas an open forum like this gives you the chance to see lots of folks who might know far better than any one person. Certainly that's true of 2D and me. User groups? Seems to me someone here was trying to set one up but it's not my baliwick).

Unless there is a reason to keep it restricted, it is usually best to use the forum. More people will see your requests (and there are quite a number of clever and helpful people here) and the answers you get may benefit others.

Thanks. So if there is somebody out there who can make me a jugband (maybe even a honkytonk-pianoplayer too) that I can use over and over again for different songs, please let me know. It would be a quickstart for me. I can draw the characters, do the backgrounds and the sound. The barbershopshop project I will try and figure out myself, as from today we are in a second lockdown over here in Holland. So lots of time to kill..... :)
