Hi everyone, I’m ZoneYe, a new developer of iClone Open Plugin.
I’m very happy that iClone has Open API so that everyone can use their creativity and write their desired functions in the IC.

I have been using Open API for a year now, and recently launched an Open Plugin related to Trigger Motion on the Marketplace.
The name of this plugin is Motion Trigger!
It can use a mouse or hot key to quickly trigger motion.
If you are interested, you can give it a try!

More about Motion Trigger:

You can try Motion Trigger from the Marketplace.

Enjoy!

Looks good @Zong Ye!
Couple of questions:
  • Are the motions already loaded or does the user have to load them for each category?
  • Can a user add more motions to each category such as an Idle 2 and  Idle 3 motion?
  • For custom motions, do they have to be loaded each time you start iClone or does it remember them or can you save and load groups of custom motions?

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your approval!

Motion Trigger provides four categories: "Idle", "Move", "Other", "Custom".
"Idle", "Move", "Other" will be loaded when the plugin is loaded in iClone.
The user can use the tool provided in the plugin to convert his favorite motion and load it into "Custom".

More information about custom motion: HERE Smile

Hm, sounds interesting but I still did not get the advantage of the plugin.
Besides heavy footsliding I saw nothing impressive or real timesaving...

Hi Toystorylab.

Thanks for your precious feedback!

About footsliding:
Maybe I don't know enough about iClone.
In my case, I tested some embed characters to apply some movement and dancing motion. Those examples look fine.
If it is convenient for you, can you tell me which motion is applied to which character through Motion Trigger will have foot slip problem?
Or is there a heavy footsliding part in my show case video but I didn't notice it?

About impressive or real timesaving thing:
I think this part should have different ideas for different people. Smile
For me, Motion Trigger has two main applications:
  1. Taking the video "Easy Trigger Motion" as an example, the distance the character moves does not necessarily correspond to the motion.
Maybe I am still a newbie to iClone, so I may need to constantly set loop, break and alignment, but through Motion Trigger I can freely switch to the motion I want during the movement.

  2. Take the video "FacialMocap with MotionTrigger" as an example. Some people may not need to produce good-looking motion immediately,
but want to simply drive some facial expressions and body movements like VTuber. I think Motion Trigger with Face Puppet or Motion LIVE can be one of the options.

Maybe I can’t fully express my thoughts through the video. Thank you for raising this question and giving me the opportunity to explain.

Hi I've been using the plugin and I think it is great, below are some videos I have created using it Smile  I would love to be able to use the facial triggers at the same time as the live facial capture and it would be nice to have an option to loop and action or for it to play and stop at the end or return to a default animation

This is exactly what I wanted to build.

I have thought the motions for IClone were too low level. I don't want to tell the character walk 6 steps and handle every detail of turning, I want to direct a character to 'Walk over to the couch' and let IClone (or your tool) or something handle the how to do that.

I just started learning Python, but I was thinking of building a 'Scene Director' that let you do a lot of what you do here.

If I buy does the source code come with it? I am more interested in the Python source then the plug-in.

Thank you,
