Hello!
I have a problem with iclone 7. It crashes as soon as it launches, even on an empty project. But this only happens when i have my nvidia drivers up to date. I have to constantly switch between old and new drivers now since my other software that i work with needs to have the more up to date drivers.
Anything i can do to find a middle ground and not have to switch between servers constantly? Because this is seriously slowing down my work.

My feeble understanding says that your graphics card is under-powered VRAM-wise. iClone will only see one graphics card and it should be the NVIDIA but it will only see one and it's under-powered with only 4 gigs of VRAM. .. at least as I see it. SLI is not recognized by iClone.

I agree with Mark. First make sure that your system is set so that iClone does not try to use the Intel Graphics chip. iClone does not at present make use of dual Graphic cards, and your 980 is at the bottom end of the usable spectrum. I don't know what the latest driver version for Nvidia cards is on Win 8, but the one listed in my signature is the latest one for Win 10 and all the software installed on my system works without issues.

So.... i fixed it.... but i don't exactly know how. I checked the 3D settings in my Nvidia panel and changed a lot of the settings to what Nvidia recommended. And then i installed the most up to date Nvidia driver again, and now my iclone runs again like normal. Also both my GPU's seem to be used especially when rendering (both 45-50 degrees when working in iclone and both 60-65 degrees when rendering).
So i don't really understand it but it works great now! Thank you both for the help!

Alright let me edit my answer here haha.
It seems to work on and off. I launched and closed it multiple times now and it sometimes launches flawlessly and then also works flawlessly. But then when i close it and open it again WITHOUT opening any project it sometimes crashes immediately. Then i launch it again (say no to restore project) and it sometimes it works flawlessly again or it crashes on launch haha.
So i am even more confused now...

Is there a way to solve it without spending money on a new GPU?
