photoshopping skills are important for really making the most of headshot -  the issue is between the lighting and the shadows....a perfect image for a perfect head in headshot,  won't look realistic because it won't have any shadows

For example,  facegen -  is a nice software for creating face images -  https://facegen.com/
the problem is they will never look realistic because they lack nuance of real light,  shadows and imperfections

These are some exercises I developed to hone in on my own photoshopping skills which made a big difference in creating realistic looking faces,

This exercise teaches you to turn a half face into a full face,  in the process you will learn how to smooth out defects,  adjust colors / shadows and shades, and resizing - reshaping aspects of the character.

With this exercise,  I took the last 4 presidents and started making 1 face out of the 4 images,  in this one,  you will learn how to smooth over and resize images -  which also helps when creating faces for character creator -  once you learn these skills you will never be short of images for headshot https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/a9584675-530f-4a28-9295-f78f.jpg

https://generated.photos/.

https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/.

There is also a thread somewhere of 1000 pre-selected AI-generated photos for download. I'll have to find the reference.

Here it is: https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost432575.aspx.

We really should have a way to have stickies for useful resources, but because one day my memory will fail...Unsure

great resources Animagic -  the paid one is easier because they cleaned it up a ton  - their algorithm looks limited though as most of the faces look relatively the same.

the thispersonisnotreal site,  is the one i've been using,,  but requires a lot of photoshopping to remove glasses, clean up the shadows, and hide teeth,...this one is my personal favorite because it's so versatile ...and I can use the photoshopping tricks I posted on this thread to mix and match parts to make new faces.    the dropbox collection looks great -  all faces are very clean,  not much to fix and no teeth to hide / photoshop.

- I'd start with the drop box one, which is the cleanest easiest to use,  then work my way through the generated-photosite -  which needs some photoshopping to remove teeth then finally thispersonisnotreal which is advanced photoshop to fix up the images and prep them for a clean character.
