Character Creator 3 Pipeline exports FBX characters so providing Maya LT doesn't have any restrictions on FBX import then I don't see a problem.
CC3 characters are also already rigged so you won't need to rig them in Maya.
You should be able to test this with the trial version. The trial version allows 10 exports to FBX so you can see how Maya LT handles the exported character.
