I downloaded some characters for personal use from a friendly website and they all seem to have a shinny silver like layer on all their materials. I have tried to change their specular and glossiness settings and still nothing changes

 This is what i get as compared to the properly shaded and textured one. The other character looks like he has a gray scale covering him. I cant seem to figure out what to do

I guess the diffuse channels are not at 100%... Pull slider up in material section.
