i like that principle more, it gives beter results than moving whole eyebals, because actually when you move your eyebals white area have to looks always same - more bright near center, and darker at periphery, and only dark part must be moved
like if you rotate white ball, image must be always the same, and only black point on this ball will change position

That's a very good point!! my custom eyes always have the white part "too bright" and I think that's the solution. Great idea!

some time before i wondered if it posible to automate this process
it will be posible if i could import in Crazytalk custom eye with transparent(instead of white) area, and put white area background picture behind as rear layer, so that Crazytalk would move eyes darkrounds with transparent area

is it posible somehow with Crazytalk?

hehehe.... I'm not sure about that, but it would be a great improvement for this wonderful program.

Maybe in the next program update? What do you think, programmers?? ;)

after some experiments, i findout that for my model best results can be achieved if i move only dark part of eyes(pupil and iris), while white part is used like oposite layer and not moved
so i divide portrait in to 3 layers, forward layer - face without eyebals(with transparent holes), then movable dark part circles(eye pupil and iris), and rear layer, that contain white part of eye with pathed dark area
i like that principle more, it gives beter results than moving whole eyebals, because actually when you move your eyebals white area have to looks always same - more bright near center, and darker at periphery, and only dark part must be moved
like if you rotate white ball, image must be always the same, and only black point on this ball will change position

PS: it's also will be beter if eyes holes will have feather options(like in Photoshop), otherwise it looks artificial - like stair

OK friends, I'm here again !! I've been travelling for some days :alien:

This is what I've done to create my CUSTOM EYES using the ORIGINAL EYES of my puppet:

1. I took some pictures of my real puppet eyes. I used a Nikon D70 with macro lens, but any digital camera with good resolution is OK.

2. My puppet eyelids were partialy closed, so I had to "recreate" the eyeball with Photoshop. The most difficult part was to create "imperfections" in the eye. If the eyeball is too perfect it won't look good. Pay attention to the white part in the eyeball. Pure white doesn't look "real".

3. The size of this "fake" eyeballs must be bigger than the original ones. Then you can resize them inside CrazyTalk depending on your personal needs. I'm sure you'll have to do some test to find the perfect size, but remember that It's always better to have a bigger image and then reduce it.

4. Remember that you just need ONE EYE, not two. CrazyTalk will use one eyeball for both eyes. Then in CT6, you can modify the eyes (left/right) separately to have a "Popeye" effect if you want. (Thank you CrazyTalk for making our lives easier!!)

5. Insert your custom eyeball as explained in previous messages, and adjust size.

My puppet:

And a small video test for custom eyes (mp4, 1 mb):

What I need to improve now is:

1. White color is too bright.
2. The eyeball needs some shadows to make it look more "spherical".

"IMPORT!" that's exactly what I was looking for !!!

I didn't see that option.

Many thanks, I'll try it in a while and tell you about the results. :P

I recall 2 or 3 years ago, Peter had to point this out to me, too.

This sounds like a user-interface design glitch.

My guess is that the tiny folder button needs a label beside it which reads: "Import image"

I'm trying to find the perfect size for the image. I've tested big ones, small ones, medium size, round, square, png....

I'll put everything on the same format to show the results.

Hi,

You can add your own custom eyes to your Crazytalk character very easily.

1) Simply load your model and select Eye Settings from the left hand panel.

2) Then switch to Modify and then choose Import (see image below)

3) Then load in a custom single eye image and it will be automatically added to your character.

4) You can then make positioning and size adjustments as required.

Hope this helps. :)

Hi friends,

I'm using CT6 and I'm trying to create custom eyes for my characheter, BUT (there's always a "but") this eyes are NOT the ones in the templates:

http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/help/crazytalk6/04_Talking_Image/VividEye_Technology.htm

I want to use the original eyes in the picture. Imagine that it's a picture of myself and I want to use my own eyes.

Is it possible to do this?

Many thanks
