This is Part 1 of Episode 6 entitled "Plant Man from Space". The evil Plant Man of Hedera and his human henchman Dr. Rootes cultivate an evil plot to paralyze Space City and the World Space Patrol’s defenses for an invasion of a virulent form of rapid-growing ivy. This is a color animated remake of the UK children’s show Fireball XL5, created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, which featured marionettes. The show appeared on US television from 1963-1965 on NBC. Voices, sound effects and music are from the original TV broadcast. There are slight alterations for creative license. The 25-minute episode is split into two parts. Part 2’s release is tentatively scheduled for early April 2020. All credits will be listed in Part 2.
Look for in this episode: New improved Venus, characters have digital skin, rail launch of Fireball XL5 replaces runway takeoff. Episode rendered in iClone.
For all ages or anyone who is young at heart. I hope you enjoy.

Well done Walt, another gem. Especially liked the winch equipment for the launch sequence, very interesting mechanics, I bet that took quite a while to create.
How did you achieve the overall "illustrated" look? Is it lighting / LUT or did you apply an external process/effect? Characters look great and as usual the scenery is always interesting. Can't wait to see part 2.

Walt, great job, a good improvement with the digital skin and great animation as always, and there is no better to improve one's skills than to work on an enjoyable project, the new take-off track, and Crain sequence was also great. Looking forward to part 2. N.

Hi Walt,
I got the Fireball X 5 episode last night
viewed on the tablet and am a big fan
Of your movie clips.
I don't know the original (only the "Thunderbirds" were broadcast on TV in Germany) but
since they are very similar to the "Thunderbirds" I can only assume
that Fireball X was the same.
I am enthusiastic about your implementation.
