I am asking the question here, so other people will see it. Yeah, like the 10 people who are on this forum.
here's what I want to do: Use iClone7 or CrazyTalk 8 to create a series of animations (~100) of lip-synced movement to recorded audio clips. I need to then import the model plus the collection of animations into Unity and have Unity play those animations + sounds at random. I'd like somebody on this forum to explain in some detail, the process, or to tell me it's simply not possible so I can get my money back.

I'm trying it in iClone 7 and it looks like there isn't any ability to save off an animation separate from the model FBX export. I'm astonished there isn't any way to save off a set of animation parameters. Is there a work-around for this? As far as I know, CC3 can't do animation. And that only leaves CrazyTalk 8, which can't import my avatar, and can't import FBX files. I've only been experimenting with this Reallusion stuff for a couple days, but it seems like interoperability between programs is low, and the import/export stuff hasn't been fully baked yet, and the workflow is clunky. How can I be the only person out there that wants multiple animations on the same FBX model? It seems like iClone7 doesn't deal with multiple animations and I find that utterly astonishing.

Please somebody tell me I'm missing something!

If you have CC3 Pipeline, you can export the character, character and animation(s), or just the animations in FBX. See here:

If you create all your motions and have them all saved in you content library, then you can add them all to the FBX export together, rather than exporting one at a time.

Make sure you capture your motions as "Motion Plus" to include the facial animation.
