I've searched and read but haven't found any info yet so I'm asking you kind folks here: Is there a way to create a head in Crazy Talk and then use that head in Cartoon Animator? Can the head be animated in Crazy Talk and then put on a body in Cartoon Animator? If yes, can you point me to a tutorial or instructions?
Thank you for your help.

Hi David Unfortunately CrazyTalk 8 and Cartoon Animator 4 use a different file formats so it's not possible to share content between the two products. However Cartoon Animator 4 has the same 2D head creator built in so you can create 2D heads directly in CTA4 without needing CrazyTalk 8.

Thank you Peter. I found the way to do it in Cartoon Animator.
Is Crazy Talk going to be discontinued? I'm not sure what I would use it for anymore except maybe to make RL Heads for Character Creator. It seems I can do all the other functions in RL's other software that I would have used CT for. (CC, iClone and CA4.) Or does it have other uses that I haven't needed or looked for?

CrazyTalk 8 isn't being discontinued but is on hiatus at the moment in terms of a new version or further upgrades. I think the big selling point for CrazyTalk 8 is simplicity. For those new to animation software, or those who just only want to create talking heads, CrazyTalk 8 is a great way to get started. It is easy to learn and has some unique features like auto facial animation and auto reactive facial animation. These features mean that newcomers can have an animated talking character up and running in just minutes.

It appears that CrazyTalk never returned from "hiatus". Having used the full Reallusion suite of products for over a decade, I have found that Cartoon Animator is not a perfect substitute for CrazyTalk 8. Cartoon Animator takes a lot longer to use for basic talking head animation, and does not seem to include the various options for quickly adding voice-driven emotion animation to the heads.
And for some reason, CrazyTalk 8 will no longer open on my main computer where I have all of my other Reallusion apps installed. I get the splash screen, then the program immediately terminates. I am still able to run it on my (slower) laptop since I do not have the other Reallusion apps, or the Hub installed on my laptop.

Hi... This is a 5 year old thread. CrazyTalk has sadly been discontinued for few years now and unfortunately there are no plans for a new version.
