Here you can see what's coming in UE4.27 Live Link Face Calibration a.s.o : https://portal.productboard.com/epicgames/1-unreal-engine-public-roadmap/tabs/24-unreal-engine-4-27-summer-2021Alembic Improvements for Hair & Fur JR JILL RAMSAY Posted on Apr 28We've extended the Hair & Fur system to support better integration of Alembic geometry caches. Prior to 4.27, the only way to attach a hair groom to an Alembic-driven character was to import the Alembic file as a skeletalMesh, which has quality limitations (but faster playback speed). In 4.27, the Hair & Fur system now has the option to bind a groom directly to an Alembic geometry cache, which exactly reproduces the source Alembic data. In addition, we've added the ability to import a groom that has already been simulated in a DCC package and contains cached per-frame hair data, as an option to driving and simulating the hair within Unreal Engine.
JR JILL RAMSAY Posted on Mar 31(Image rendered with Unreal Engine Path Tracer, model courtesy of Archvyz) The Path Tracer is a progressive rendering mode in Unreal Engine that can be enabled without requiring any additional setup, the only requirement being a DXR-capable GPU. It closes the feature gap of the real-time ray tracing core, including physically correct and compromise-free global illumination, physically correct refractions, feature-complete materials within reflections and refractions, and super-sampled anti-aliasing. For 4.27, the Path Tracer should be a viable candidate for use in common rendering scenarios, with a focus on AEC, automotive, and product design. Improvements in 4.27 include: Support for all material types except Hair, Eye, and SingleLayerWater. Support for refraction and all major blend modes. Transmission of light through glass surfaces, including approximate (but not full) caustics. Support for most light parameters such as area size, penumbra, attenuation, barndoors, rect light textures, IES profiles, etc. Support for nearly unlimited numbers of lights. Improved sampling techniques, resulting in less noise in the same amount of rendering time. This is still an ongoing area of research and will continue to improve in future versions of Unreal. Support for orthographic cameras.

Thanks for that. You have to go through it to retarget each body type iteration though yes?, just the once. You can change the body sizes in the MH Blueprint , the Skeleton will be updated. The IClone dummies are for doing the animations in IClone with the same proportions you are using for MHs in UE4.

Bassline303 (5/13/2021) Marvelous Designer - CC3 Character - UE4 - (Tutorial) :)
Absolutely great! THANK YOU! I do have one question: I believe you mentioned some time ago that it is possible take Daz 3D clothing assets into Marvelous Designer for simulation, but the assets have to be prepared in some way. Can you please do a tutorial covering this process? That is if you haven't done one already. Thanks again!

Oh man... I was drinking a beverage when I was watching this tutorial and I spit out my drink laughing when it suddenly zooms in and says "Antonia D Prime" on the sunglasses! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

For Metahumans are you exporting the anims from unreal from the BP as in the face and body as fbx, or are you exporting the fbx dummy from iclone. The metahuman with no clothes from bridge actually has underwear which may interfere with simulation? I haven’t checked if it’s actually geometry or not, or are you exporting the body preview mesh from unreal? Cheers,

Bassline, is the Path Tracer in 4.27 supposed to be faster than has been, I actually hadn't used it or tested it in a while... I like the "unlimited lights" part!
:DHmmm...still green as of 4.26

Not a tip or trick, but if you are a subscriber to Netflix - check out Season 2 of Love Death and Robots which was released today. I was very impressed by the episode titled "Snow in the Desert." There is some amazing CGI work. I was very impressed by the subtle flesh motions, and the animated character contact (such as holding hands, kissing, hands brushing face, etc.). Be warned - it's violent and NSFW.
