Cool , looks like IClone gets new export features :

Hi...

Currently if you wish to export from iClone rather than Character Creator 3 then you will need 3DXchange 7 Pipeline. However, the next version of iClone will include new export features just as we have done with Character Creator 3. We will have more about this later in the year. :)

THIS is my favorite hairstyle.  Well, at least so far I am trying.  I haven't done the twistaroo at the end of the braid, it's a straight connect.

It is a double whammy because the shape has to be posed to the model otherwise it passes through.

But, the braids do swing back and forth as a single unit, but the faster you jiggle it, it breaks apart.

And if I shift it, they crumble:

But they do come together and re-forge into the shape after movement has stopped, just like in real-life, LOL.

But sometimes the strands stay all messy, but then they too re-forge

Anyway what I leaned from this is that the Grooms are a little bit of a 'fake', in that they don't truly interact with the mesh so much as they react to the linked bone.

So, with that being said, we then know that the Grooms are RIGGED.
They are a HOAX.
They are the biggest fraud in UE4's history, and that's saying a lot.
FAKE GROOMS!

haha Tony , UE4 is still a Game Engine & with Game Engines you have to cheat :P
The kind of hair you are using will work better with bone dynamics , but your hair would need a bone rig.
Groom is realtime and very very tricky with hair over the shoulders... 
I did a lot of trail & error with long hair but it never worked as good as I wanted.
Shorter hair is much easier and it looks good.
For longer hair you have to take your time and adjust a lot of simulation parameters and every hair is different ... but it will never look like in
Houdini or Daz Animated Hair Strands after 3 hours of simulation calculation.
The other thing is to use as less Collision Capsules as possible and delete the unused to get better collision calculations.
But I also believe that it will be getting better and better with every Update , Epic is putting a lot of money into the Groom development.

Yeah Bassline, I can get that effect too, but it strips the hair of its shape and form. When you use a straight hair you can utilize that dynamic because the destruction works with the look of the groom. But if I use those settings say on a braid, the braid shreds, although it does then move against the neck and shoulders as opposed to passing through so much. So it works like yours, but identically, as opposed to a rope-like interaction.

Cheat !  Use a lot of hair spray :D
