I hope I'm getting the terminology right; if not I hope my question still makes sense. Is it my understanding that iclone will not let you keep a character's hands and feet in place while you rotate parts of its trunk in Edit Motion Layer? Discovering that has caused me no end of grief in a project I'm working on. Even lowly Poser7, released more than 12 years ago, will allow a user to do that. I suppose I was a damned fool in assuming that iclone would let you, but I never bothered to make sure that was the case before I shelled out hundreds of dollars for it because it seemed so basic. Does anybody know of a solution to this?

Of course it will. You can either click the padlock icons near the hands / feet of the dummy in the Edit Motion Layer panel, or, if you want a more robust (but slightly more complicated) option, you can use Reach Targets.

Hi Hookflash, Sorry, my bad in how I asked the question. Of course locking the padlocks lets me move the trunk in IK mode to move the hips, abdomen, etc in straight lines. That's not the problem. I should have said FK mode. It won't let me keep hands and feet intact while I rotate body parts. But I'll try what you said about Reach Targets. Thank you.

OK, it worked by clicking on Reach Effector. Thank you very much!
