I know how to code in C#, and have looked at Python is about all I can say. I have 1 specific task I tried to do, and it was so time consuming doing it by hand I gave up on the video after creating an entire poker room. I have a set of poker chips in varying colors. All I want to do is take a chip, duplicate it, move it the height of 1 chip vertically, rotate it horizontally a little randomly, and repeat the process for the end of the stack. Doing this by hand takes forever for lots of stacks of chips, so if someone can point me in the right direction of how to get a 'handle' of chip prop, duplicate it, position it, rotate it, repeat to x number of chips 'Up'. I guess the first question 'is duplicating a chip possible' has to be answered first, then I will proceed on to later questions else I will keep the project put off. The purple chip is an example of one of the chips I have created, and my desired result would be to end up looking like one of the stacks.

Sounds like a Chinese restaurant name, but thanks for the reply. As of now, is it possible to position (move)? I saw rotate in a video recently, might have been yours @Kellytoons that demonstrated rotating so I know that must be possible. I will try and read the news here more often.

The ability to clone is on the Python list of "very soon now" enhancements. But, yes, you can move stuff around just fine. So if you first duplicate them manually you can put them wherever you want. It will be good practice for when you can do both.

Thanks, do you know where the list of coming features is listed? I installed Python when I setup Visual Studio 2019 Release Candidate this week, so this weekend I am ready to start trying to learn (again). Before I repeat all the FAQ, Is there a quick start documentation guide anywhere? Is there a way to get a list of all props in a project, or do you have to know the name of the object? If I have a chip called WhiteChip1, what is required to move WhiteChip1 to x = 200, y = 200, z = 200? And last question for my Python 101 IClone learning, if you move an object, I take it this would move objects that are attached to it also, right? Thanks, I will wait until I get setup before I ask specifics.

from what i know there are 2 ways to duplicate items - one is with the prop tool - which duplicates the model / meshes the other is the grass tool which instances a billboard for grass. reason I'm pointing this out is because the grass does not consume the same amount of resources as duplicating the mesh. Something to be aware of when the updates come, hopefully the goal would be to fill the room with chips in an instanced form so they don't consume as much memory. I don't know the python coding, but I am aware of more than one way to duplicate items.

This is what I still use (there's a Wiki on it but I kind of hate it): https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone/script/python/md_docs__getting__started.html
I think it also explains how to list all props in a scene but if it doesn't (or you can't figure it out) let me know and I'll write a tiny script to do that.

Shoot -- I missed it. Thanks, Luke (I was sick for two weeks so I guess it blew by me).
