Hi there,

I'm rendering a CC character in 3DSMax with the Redshift renderer.
The hair's alpha channel pushes right through the head, almost like a matte.
Please can you help?

It looks like Specularity is way up for the skin. To test, remove the hair. My guess is that you will still see the white areas. They will also change position when you move the lighting.

Depending on the Max shader, you will have to adjust Specularity or Roughness (in case it is PBR). I don't have Max, so I can't check myself.

I've seen similar happen in Unity. Try playing with shader options for the hair and scalp you have available in Redshift.

I assume you can use different shaders in Redshift that may do better job. Make sure the shader used for the hair is only used for the hair.

Fixed.. Thanks for the replies.
I used a sprite node in Red-Shift, which solved the issue.
So it was a shader issue in the end.

Thanks!
