I've been having trouble "saving face" as it were. In stage mode I can deform a G2's head, face and hair. In compose I can only transform. In the stage mode after I've got the look I want. I save the character as custom. However, when I retrieve the character, it has reverted it's head back to the default and I lose the deforming aspects I applied. Am I missing something? Why can I deform in stage mode, but lose it when I save it?

The changes you made will not be saved as part of the actor because they are keys stored on the various object tracks and not in the actor object itself.
Just as a motion is not saved with a character neither are any deform or transform keys.
Unfortunately I don't believe that the collect clip will grab those keys, only motion related keys, so you can not save them out and apply to the character again.

In composer Mode you can only change the size, position and aspect (H/W) of the various sprites that make up the character.
You can also replace the sprites with new ones drawn to your requirements.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I'm still to figure out everything.
