Now I'm confused, not unusual for me.  Seen indigo demos before and was impressed as it improved quality however ……. you got that Iray thingy so what are the strengths and weaknesses of the two especially in terms of render speed.  I am only really interested in animation and from what I can gather I ray may well be too slow for me without expensive equipment or some sort of rendering farm.  How about indigo and a gtx 1080ti or RTX 2080 ti?

I know there are many variables but I'm talking about 2 or 3 characters in a simple set or room.

Thinking about it my guess is Indigo will render water, popcorn? speedtree which iray won't but it won't do the shiny reflective stuff or subsurface scattering iray will.  Both seem interesting but for me its render speed, any ideas?

Thank you Peter for good news! I am surprised since you recently mentioned replying to my inquiry that this product is retired (which it is).

But since you brought it up, here is a question: Would v1.54 support Indigo RT4.0? There is fundamental difference between RT 3.8 and the latest RT 4.2.14

To the speed question (and this is purely about speed - sampling of the same object). As it stands now Indigo RT 4.2.14 (which is not fully supported - again as of now) would beat Iray hands down.
Indigo supports water, speed-trees (to some degree). On heavy loaded scene with a lot of trees it crops out though. Does not support popcorn. And there is a whole lot of other things that RT 4.0 does not support (or rather iClone does not export it properly mapped)

Interesting then, the speed thingy.  Decided Iray would not be of use to me at the moment but Indigo might.  I will watch some demo vids as they arise and maybe try the plugin.  Thanks.
