When using facial mocap, do you get better results by using the new CC3 character base, rather than CC1? If there's a difference, is it significant? I ask because I've already created all the characters for my game with CC1 models and if I have to upgrade to CC3 models it's going to involve a lot of re-work. (This may be confusing for non-game developers, but please just trust me on that)Thanks in advance for your advice!

I desperately need to know this as well. Not for mocap, but general facial animations. I'm not sure if a CC3 character inherently has more facial "muscles" to allow for more expression or not (similar to the jump from CC1 to CC2, where we gained a ton more facial morph options, and therefore, better expressions). I know that CC3 characters have better "bone movement" (whatever the term would be), but does this apply to the face too? Or just the body?

I answered this in the duplicate post you posted elsewhere. Yes, the CC3 characters are better, at least in terms of Faceshift (I haven't used Faceware since I got FS). It's most likely a combination of better maps and better mesh.

I'm interested in the views of anyone else who has experienced this and can give a nuanced answer.

I bought those RLHeads wich can only be applied to the CC1 Base. When I convert the base to CC3 after... does that means I get all those CC3 features? I cant really imagine that suddenly you have better morphs, skin weighting etc etc
What do you think?

I confirm, it's better, if I have time, I'll do a video with live face. Even the character is better than CC1 after rendering...

Hi guys, this is a very speed test, sorry, I've even had a time to modify the voice to an female voice. May be some of you won't see a big difference but I really feel the difference of CC1 and CC1 transformed to CC3. After; it's not perfect...but can be improved in editing...
