I'm having trouble finding a preset motion for G2 characters to simply sit down. I've all over the different motions tabs. I see the G3 characters have a several sitting preset, but for the life of me I can't find any for G2s?  What am I missing?

You are not missing anything, there isn't one for G2.
You can easily do a sit by using the 3D Motion Editor or use one of the many iClone motions available in the store.
