CTA3 3.3.3007.1, on a iMAC with OS X 10.11.6
I can play a .MOV file in Quicktime and it looks to be at the quality expected. File format is H.264 1920x1080. However when importing the video file to CTA3 the quality of the video is degraded. This was imported into a PROP. I can not see what the import video file quality actually is but it seems "washed" out. Some of the small light colored lines become blurred. I have messed with project settings and with CTA preferences with no improvement to the imported video quality. I may have missed something in settings but unsure what it may be. This is important as my final output animation will keep or even loose more quality depending on my output settings. Do I need to live with this reduction in imported video quality?

I did some testing. Tried changing output format using iMovie to try to match video settings in the CTA3 project. Tried a bunch of up and down video output settings using iMovie. NO SUCCESS - still blurry while working with the movie clip in CTA3. I then wanted to see what CTA3 will do with its output creation. So I created a 1080 MOV output at 30 frames per second. Interesting on my iMac the creation of this output MOV file from CTA3 took a LONG time - >30min. for a 2000 frame project that only had one prop - the imported MOV file. The CTA3 output MOV was.....perfect! I suspect this is something CTA3 is doing to video clips while a project is being edited and used in CTA3. Anyway - it looks like CTA3 outputs the MOV file in as good as quality as its input MOV. Encouraging.
