Help! My computer is super SLOW when I use iClone 7.

My computer is less than 6-months old and lightning fast video card (a gaming computer), lots of RAM and hard drive space.

* It was fine yesterday.
* I have the updated latest version of iClone
* I ran Norton (no viruses)
* I got rid of all the stuff on my desktop so it wouldn't slow it down.
* I defragged the hard drive
* Looked for any props with reflections and turned those off.
*No other programs are running, nothing else is being downloaded in the background.

for some reason before I do anything it says Video Memory 1.5 (I'm assuming gigs or MB)

Is that all the time or with an specific project? Or perhaps caused by some feature ie gi? Has anything changed in your computer? Like a Windows update? Besides memory usage what is the gpu usage when you open the default project?

What are your system specifications including the graphic card? As Raxel has already mentioned, is the slowdown only occurring with certain projects or all projects including the sample iClone projects? Also do check if your computer has switchable graphics. If it does do make sure you are using the Nvidia or AMD option. Do not use the Intel graphics option. You mention 1.5GB of VRam which is very low and sounds like Intel integrated graphics being used.

This is the computer I have - LINK - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075KN357R/  (Also I have Windows 10)

When I open even a blank object, I see Video Memory: 1.4/0.5GB.  The slow down is all the time. As far as I know there hasn't been any Windows Update.

It seems your laptop is using the wrong gpu, check your amd control panel, there should be a way to select the amd gpu, with nvidia if you right click on iclone the pop menu has an option to change the gpus maybe its the same for amd

not sure if you saw the screenshots, but I think it's using the AMD.

When I open even a blank object, I see Video Memory: 1.4/0.5GB.  The slow down is all the time. As far as I know there hasn't been any Windows Update.

This indicates that you are using 1.4 GB, while only 0.5 GB is available. As others have pointed out, it looks like you are using the internal graphics.

Your screen capture confirms this. You have an integrated (on-board) AMD graphics processor with only 512 MB. To get more it must use system memory which is very inefficient (note the shared system memory figure).

Now your specs say that there is 4 GB of graphics memory, but that's not what you are using.

**PROBLEM SOLVED** I right clicked on the desktop then chose AMD settings and after going through Global chose "High Performance" as the default for iClone.  Thouse it shows 4GB available (not sure why it doesn't show 8GB), but that's better than 0.5GB like before.

Thanks for your support guys!
