Hello, This is probably something really basic and I have missed it in a tutorial somewhere - but how do I copy the animation from one character to another in the same scene so that they are moving in sync with each other for a dance sequence?  Sorry if this is really simple, but I am new to this.  Thanks in advance, Greg

Just add the motion like you did for the first dancer while keeping it on frame 1 or the same frame where you added it to the first one. Select the second dancer and click on the motion or drag and drop it.

Hi, I guess that if this is a custom motion created for the specific character, it needs to be saved first as a custom motion before it can be added to the second character, correct? Or is it possible to just copy selected frames from one character and paste it to the second character timeline?

Hi, thanks for the reply - if I can copy the keyframes from one motion track to the other, how would I do that?  I have tried to select the motion clips in the motion track and then copy to another track but that doesn't seem to work.  Can you please provide a step-by-step on how to do this please?  Thanks so much, Greg

That is true and if that is the case he will need to collect the clip and save it to the motion library first. I don't think that is the case here as he is a new user but who knows. ;) But here is a link to the instructions in the help manual and although this example is from IC6, it will be the same.

http://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_6/ENU/Pro_6.0/default.asp?page=09_Animation_Timeline_Editing/Collect_Clip_Track.htm

Here is a link for the IC7 info from the manual.

You can copy keys, and motions I believe, between actors. copy the motion, click where you want in actor 2's motion track, and paste.

Copy an entire clip by selecting cop in the right-click menu, or select just keys you want to copy be dragging over them in the timeline.

Yes, that works too as I just verified but I was showing the easy way for a new user. :D
