Presenting a color animation of Fireball XL5, Part 1 of  Episode 2 Entitled “Flight to Danger”. Created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson,  the show was produced by AP Films and distributed by ITC Entertainment. The black  & white UK children’s series used marionettes for all its characters and appeared  on US television from 1963-1965 on NBC. I animated Part 1 with iClone 7. The  voices, sound effects and music are from the original TV broadcast.

I split the 25-minute episode into two parts. Part 2 will be  released in several months, and all credits will be listed in Part 2. For ages12 and younger or anyone who is young at heart. I hope you enjoy.

Nice one Walt !
Yes, I remember watching Fireball XL5 in the '60's on Black & White TV. (in Melbourne, Australia).
I also recall "Stingray", "Supercar", "Space Patrol", "Thunderbirds" - loved them all - really inspiring stuff for kids in the day.
You've certainly given Fireball a more modern look, I'm surprised how well the original sound track holds up!
Lots of work ..... well done!

Hi Walt,
it's very very nice.
I did not know the original series because it was not on German TV,
but I like what you do there.
Gurss Werner
PS. The "Thunderbirds" knew (I know) however

Wow! This is really awesome!!! Love the retro score and voiceovers in the old series. Only critique is some of the camera changes need some smoothing out. Other than that... it’s frigggggiinnn stunnning!!! Love love love the cartoony look but still high detail. You really nailed the vibe of the original series with an updated twist. Can’t wait for the next part. Man oh man... this is really good! Smile

Thank you all who commented. It is very much appreciated.

Sonicthehedgehog_24, I too loved the Gerry Anderson shows  with Fireball XL5, Stingray and Captain Scarlett being my favorites.  It took me about 9 weeks (average 5 hours aday) to complete part 1. BigGrin

Peterblood, just giving my old fingers a chance to recuperate  then I will start Part II. BigGrin

Postfrosch, that’s a shame it was never shown in Germany. You  can watch the original B&W series on Amazon, if you get the Shout Factory  channel add on. BigGrin

Pinguintje, 10 star rating, wow! That’s going to be hard to  beat in the future.   BigGrin

Txon, I’m glad you liked it. I’ve been admiring your art in  the Banner of the Month contest. BigGrin

Kungphu, I felt iClone was well suited to resurrect a  B&W show that used marionettes. It’s almost as if you wanted, you can still  see the strings. Will try and smooth out the camera changes in Part 2. BigGrin
