I recently watched a couple of tutorials about Character Animator.  In my opinion, Crazytalk animator 3 is a little more advanced than Adobe.  Its simpler to create your character and scenes in CTA 3. The biggest plus is the market place. Adobe doesn't have a place to purchase ready to use content. Reallusion better move faster to expand and encourage content developers to join the market place.  I'm curious if anyone has tried the software  yet.  Adobe is more expensive than crazytalk animator because you have to pay a month subscription.

have a great weekend everyone

I have the Adobe apps, but that is one I haven't tried yet. Truthfully, I'll stick with CTA.

I too have Adobe Creative Cloud Apps and took a quick look at the Charactor Animator after I noticed that a class at the community college was using it  for the 2D Animation class, but I did not go into depth.  The only thing that was interesting is the  ability to do motion capture of the face. But it looks like CTA will have that feature soon and there is some cross over with some of the iClone motions.

I'm with RicksWorks, I'll stick with CTA.(Now if I can only find the time to really learn how to use it properly!!!!! :w00t::laugh:

sjonesdc :hehe:

STILL LEARNING!!!

I think the target users are different.
The Character animator is promoted to the social network and live show on the youtube or twitch becoming a streamer (live master).
The CrazyTalk Animator is promoted to the 2D animation and character animation that forward to professional product like toon boom or moho.
In the other hand, character animator does not friendly to make an animation, it has to draw a lot of sprite and effect to become a trigger.
Then create the multi-angle head character it will be very long time to prepare although I think in the future the social network target users will be more. But the professional to create an animation the number of users will be more then streamer.

I will be sticking to CTA for now. Still seems to be the more practical app for rapid animation. While Character Animator may have a bit more options and versatility, still requires a lot of classical grunt work.

Theoretically there's no reason why you can use both. Just use blank faces with track markers and import footage into character animator. Then just apply the face with facial mocap onto the body from CTA.
