I bought both the Substance Painter and the Substance Designer yesterday, But today I am pretty leery about trying out Substance Painter at least.

I am running an Asus 1080ti and would not expect to have to worry about long computation renders, but when Painter comes up I am commanded to go to regedit, to go directly to regedit, not to pass Go and certainly not to collect $200, but there to change or install a couple of new variables in the Tdr section of the Graphics Drivers.

I checked around the web and found a great deal of chatter, pleas for help, howls of wrath etc on the subject of Substance Painter crashes. There were also plenty of messages telling me that the regedit fixes did not work.

Now I think RL has probably reached the stage when it can lean on third parties like Allegorithmic and insist that they sort this out. By the time I am writing this I notice that several other iCloners have bought the software. I hope they let us know how they are getting on.

Of course, if this turns out to be a 1080ti problem then my humble apologies, but it seems to date back to 2015, So I do wish before making a cheap offer RL would have someone check the web for problems related to software.
