In a time beyond time, on the island of Cretas, lived an exoctic race known as the Cretasians who tamed the local beasts to carry their
warriors into combat. Below is the Cretasian Light Cavalry. Fast, maneuverable, and deadly, an opponent could ill afford to ignore them
when they made their appearance on the battlefield.

it reminds me of the world of Flash Gordon and some very old comics from the beginning of the last century ... the time when we thought that in the year 2000 everything would be atomic and that cars would all fly ... and of course the aliens were like us and the heroines had to have breasts like cannons shells :)
Good no flying cars in your image but .. I may have been wrong era ...
Nice picture!

Hi Peter,

Love the raptors. Did you create them yourself?

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. :)

Pixtim: It's a short flight from heroic fantasy to sci-fi , John Carter of Mars is one that bridged the gap.
All of my stuff is more or less based on my youth reading comics. The comic art my eyes absorbed in the past
seems to have a strong influence on my artistic endeavors in the present. I did 2 'futuristic' nostalgia pieces on a group called the
'Pistoleers'. They're in my art gallery up on youtube. They'll remind you of those '50's and 60's  space yarns.

Walt: Man, I wish I had that kind of skill, but no, I picked them up somewhere 4 or 5 years ago. I never used them until now
although I had the girl without a helmet and the flower in her hair sitting on that raptor for about 6 months or so. [Her butt must be
really sore by now. :P]  I couldn't think of anything to do with them.

Werner: I made it actually. I hope this doesn't cheapen the illusion but, although it came out looking fairly impressive,
in reality it's made up of only 6 pieces.
A wall section
Gatehouse
Portcullis
2 torus
Wooden church building. (Reallusion prop)
Here's a shot of the pieces. As you can see, all I did was stretch the church upwards and then angled it so everything except the
tower was hidden by the walls. A little green tint and instant city. If I was building this set so I could film inside the walls, and that's
a possibility at some point, I would have been forced to remove everything from the building with the exception of the tower by manipulating the opacity channel. :)

[I also did a banner version, which called for a rearrangement of the composition a little bit. it's up in Banner of the Month]

Smoke and mirrors...that's the movies for you. :P

 pete
Edit: I forgot the Gatehouse and Portcullis
