I read the instructions here                                  https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_7/ENU/Pro/Default.htm#iClone_7/Pro_7.0/09_MotionPlus/Mergin_Partial_Motions_from_MotionPlus.htm?Highlight=collect clip
but somehow Ive been unable to transfer animation via collect clips btwn characters.I even tried to make the very same character to see if it was a mesh or morphing problem but....no luck.
Im getting ______ failed to apply motionplus.Motiondata is incompatible with the target._____
Any heads up on resolving this greatly appreciated.Thank you.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/58b6f67e-65fe-4767-abec-2d94.jpg

Unfortunately, your screen shot is cropped so it's hard to be sure, but this often happens when you *think* you have a character selected but you do not.  Try this -- go to the scene tab and make sure the avatar you want to transfer the motion to is highlighted.  Then go to the motion you are trying to transfer and drag it over on top of that character until you see the yellow highlight around it -- hold it there for a moment, and then release.

If that doesn't work, try doubleclicking on the motion instead -- sometimes you just need to have the right "touch".

If you are animating props then, yes, they don't have the same workflow as motion animation.  I'm far from a prop expert, but perhaps someone else here can help with that (IIRC, prop animation needs to be in the perform menu, but there may be more or less to it than that).

Yes that indicated it is not a  converted Character
if you Character has Bone you need  retaget these  to the RL Bonesystem with 3Dxchange  (convert to Non Standard)
if your Character has not Bones you need first rig your Mesh  in a 3D Aplication

I see Vidi.Thank you.Now I can see where the problem is.Another thing is when I convert to non-standard I lose all my animation that was done via kinect.I can not get it to work  in the perform editor of 3dxchange.The kinect animation works ok in the prop character or even Maya and can bring it to 3dxchange perform editor but once I set to non standard it stops working.I think reallusion doesnt want us to bring kinect files to iclone(?)Mine is facial mocap data.

Once you characterize the model, the facial bones (if it uses them) are reserved for the iClone facial rig. You can only import body motion if you're characterizing.

As you discovered, as a prop you can have the facial bones do whatever you want, because they are not "reserved" in this case.
