I'm trying to figure out which is the BEST camera to get, regardless of price? I assume the BRIO is the better of the webcams that are suggested, but would a 4K GoPro be better?

Has anyone found a relatively inexpensive way to make or buy a headcam?

Ordered a couple of these but haven't received them yet:

Would love to know how it works. What camera did you get it for? I see they don't have it for the GoPro Session 5, which is what I would like to use.

Bought them for our Samsung Galaxy S6 phones. We also have our old Motorola Razr Maxx HD cell phones but figured these would have better frame rates (but never really checked). And I mainly wanted them to help me design and build one if need be.

The Logitech BRIO Ultra is a dog. I can't get it to track at more than 40 FPS; the options software from Logitech doesn't recognize that it's connected. I'm returning the device and ordering the 922x, which is less than half the price.  I'll see whether that helps.
Any suggestions on alternate cameras would be valuable because Logitech is NOT a high quality company, based on the reviews it gets. The BRIO in particular is getting slammed.

Before you return the Brio, you ought to try using the Logitech Gaming Software (a separate download) to turn off low light compensation, which is a reason for many they can't track higher.  That and making sure you've got optimization turned on in the FW plugin ought to insure you easily get to 60fps, if not higher.

I love my 922x, which is a solidly built camera and gets me 60fps with very poor room lighting.  But, again, I need to turn off low-light compensation, and run optimized in FW.  But it does appear that higher tracking rates won't help much anyway, so it's more cost effective than the Brio.

I just read the logitech forum and it seems like the logitech gaming software is not compatible with the brio.
My Brio works fine and there is another forum member that just solved his problem yesterday. (He updated his usb driver)

Just to let you know I have absolutely no problem with mine. I am getting 90 fps without a hitch.  I had a little problem to get more than 15 fps at night and solved it today placing an old diffuse lamp light in front of the Brio (In my back) and I now have 90fps even at night with no exterior lights.

For those with a Brio who need it: I'm just downloading the Logitech Gaming Software, and the latest version (from 8/21/2017) adds support for the Brio.

I ended up getting the 922x because I wasn't interested in dealing with the BRIO problems that others were having. of course, it seems like those may have been solved. In the end, I will probably get a GoPro and build a headset as I think that will be the best solution. I'd like to find the headset helmet and arm that faceware has, without the camera and HDMI transmitter. $2500 is a ridiculous price.
