Hi...

You don't need an Xbox console. The recommended model is a "Kinect For Xbox One" plus you will need the PC adapter to connect it to your computer. Both of which can normally be found at the Microsoft Store or from sites like Amazon. You will of course also need the Kinect Mocap Device Plugin for iClone which is available from us. Smile

IMHO: it's a very bad investment.

First of all, how much is kinect mocap device plugin? And what about the adapter? When  I buy Xbox Kinect, doesn't it include the adapter?

From Amazon you can get both (and, no, the Kinect doesn't come with the PC adapter since it can be used with both the XBox One and a PC, and Microsoft doesn't know which one you are using.  If you have an XBox and want to use the Kinect only for that, you don't need the PC adapter).

I just bought another PC adapter (couldn't find my other one as our garage is too cluttered right now) and it was less than $50 from Amazon.  Same goes for the Kinect:

I really wonder why you thought so. Why is it bad investment? Can you explain please and what so you recommend?

Thank you.

I'm not going to speak for him but I'm going to guess he means the Kinect Plug-in that RL sells.  In that case I would agree with him.

It's bad.  Really, REALLY bad.  There are far better alternatives but I wouldn't look any further than iPisoft.  For the one Kinect system you can pay $95 a year and have a pretty superb capture that will work as long as you don't turn more than around 90 degrees (or occlude your limbs with your body).  The two Kinect version, which I have, is more costly but is on par with any of the full-body hardware mocap systems out there (although it has some limitations they do not have, and does not work in Real Time).  If you only want to do upper body work the RL plugin is *just* barely there, but if so I'd consider the Brekel system (a bit more money than the RL one but far better -- but for feet movement stick with iPisoft).

Going to agree with Kelleytoons, it is bad. iPisoft and Ikinema Orion are two systems that will give you MUCH MUCH results for a little more money, but still cheaper than the next step up which is a low cost internal capture suit like the Perception Neuron, Shadow, Rokoko, etc
