I have a prop for which I have defined an animation, collected the clip and created a Perform Action.
In a second project I defined an animation that does the reverse of the first animation, collected the clip and created a Perform Action.
Afterwards I discovered that unlike character Motions and character MotionPlus actions, prop Perform Actions don't seem to have an option for exporting the Perform Action. So now I have 2 projects, each with one of the prop's animation but no apparent way to get both of them on the same prop. I even tried exporting the Drama Script and merging them but that did not work.

Since the second animation is just a reverse of the first, I tried applying the first Perform Action animation and then using the Reverse option on it but that did not seem to do anything. Not sure why. It could either be due to the fact that my animation involves one parent with about 30 children (all contributing to the animation) or the fact that the animation includes visibility changes.

Ideally I either need to extract the Perform Action from one project and add it to the other or merge the projects so that I can Collect Clips for both Perform Action animations from the same project. Is there any way to do either? Or is there some other solution that I have overlooked?

Hi,
I'm having the same issue albeit with a much simpler perform.
According to the iClone manual on step 7, 'Add this Helper to the custom library by clicking the  button at the bottom of the Content Manager.' http://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_6/ENU/Pro_6.0/default.html

BUT, it gives no clues as to how to select the perform (referred to as 'helper' above) and which content section to add it to.

I'll let you know if I manage to fathom it out.

best
Yan

LA, I think you were on the right track. Try this:

Load the second project.
Export the drama script.
Load the first project.
Play its animations in the timeline. Do not rewind!!!!!!!
Import the drama script you just saved.
Play its new animations.
Collect and save all the clips you need from all the animations recorded in the timeline.

I was able to do this using the cat Live Prop as a test.

Hi Rampa,
I was trying what you suggested on my own project (simply trying to export a car wheel rotation so I can reuse) and all I get is an error when I try and use Perform to play the imported drama script.
Is there

Jeez, why is everything so difficult in IC!

Yes. Same results in my project...Imported Drama Script (created in a different project) generates error.

However, I did not try to click on the Perform Action clip and the use the Content Menu to save it...doh!

I will see if that works to save the Perform Action and re-add it into a different project. I will post results as soon as I get a chance to try it.

UPDATE:

No go. When I add a Perform Action to the timeline and then use the Content "+" button, it saves the Prop not the selected Perform Action.

On top of that I have discovered that Collect Clip seems to collect the animations for the select object but not the children objects. So when I collected clip of my parent that has 30 children and replayed the Perform Action, it did absolutely nothing. When the parent was an Avatar and I collected clip to MotionPlus it did do the avatar and all children.

Hmmm.

Here's a variation idea. Save the prop to the library from each project. Now load both of them into the same project. See if you get the error that way.

The prop is not an Avatar and thus if I save the prop from each project and then load them into the same project, I will get two props. This would be sufficient for my own needs (i.e. swap between the two props) but I want to sell the prop and I would not want the user to have to do that.

Looks like I might have to do it manually and re-create the second sequence in the first project.

The idea of having two versions of the same prop in your scene is that you then may be able to share the drama script between them.

Now I understand. Thanks. I'll try that.
