I never felt that Reallusion was ever interested in any way in incorporating such tools in their product, they seem more interested in character animation, which is good by me, in my opinion our best bet for such effects is either a proper Alembic import in iClone 7, or to use Unreal 4.

This is not really the right forum for this discussion, but a program such as Houdini is so far ahead with this that RL would only be reinventing the wheel. Also, there is often a long road from a proof-of-concept video to actually integrating a new technology in a product.

If iClone included Alembic import, it would be a way to get some of these effects in our scenes.

There are a lot of fantastic demos out there - this one is 8K resolution at 60fps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya4Z-obAkWA

But it depends, I suggest, on what you want to do with animation. Myself I agree with yoyomaster - the emphasis is on storytelling via characters.
