Hi all, Seems it wouldn't be too difficult to put a man/woman in a physics enabled bed and drop a soft cloth on him. Alas, things are never so simple. Has anyone done something like this and like to share the method? Thanks!

Yea, I remember this one as well Christy. Its a bit pricey (90$) and I was hoping with all the advances in soft cloth that this would be a rather simple task but I haven't seen any examples.

Well I gave it a shot biz. Of course it's a bit rough as always with my stuff. But you should be able to get it closer with a little more effort. I had to cheat a bit to get the shot using Opacity Maps and turning off objects. Also, for me, the key is to turn off all Collision Shapes that aren't needed and to tweak the daylights out of the one s that you do use. The cloth is a real tough one for me I just keep playing with sliders till I'm tired....If there was only a way to do one person's simulation at a time you could get the effect but 2 people at once seems to be too much for my system at least... Oh, and the mattress is Kinematic of course.

Great tut Mark, one thing i would suggest when doing simulations is turning the rendering type to "quick mode" as well as turning shadow off, that will help as well. Cheers, Cris

Thanks guys! Great info Cris...I used to do that in iC5 with the "Quick Shading" mode but forgot about it when I went to iC6. Kinda miss that mode!

Thank God bed linen is a lot cheaper these days.

Great Tutorial Mark. Yeah!! altering the opacity is nearly always my first port of call. I just can't get outta the old ways of doing things in iClone.
