Hello everyone, I'm planning on buying the pipleline version of CT 8 to use with my YouTube videos by exporting a cartoon avatar of myself commenting on the videos (video game vids). I use Vegas editing from Sony and am wondering if anyone on here knows of any tips or tricks to overlay an exported CT avatar into a video. Thank you for your time, newbie

I don't have CT8 but I think you can export an image sequence from CT8...if so, make it a 32 bit .png sequence... that will allow for alpha channel transparency in Vegas.

If on Mac, you can use Apple ProRes codec to export video with transparent background. If on Windows, you will either need popVideo from Reallusion or use chroma keying in Sony Vegas (if it supports it) or use some other video editing software that can remove selected color from the background. But my Windows advice isn't based on experience, I discovered Reallusion after I moved to Mac.

Much easier and you don't have to buy anything more if you just render a .png image sequence... ;)

5 min. video at 30 fps equals 9000 images in a .png sequence.

Thanks to both for the fast replies, and lol to the png sequencing. I'm gonna give popvideo a trial and see what I think, but there's some free chroma software out there I want to try as well.
Much appreciated on the advice.
