UPDATE:  Okay, never mind. It was the project settings had been set to "Bullit Engine" by default. Changed to "Physix Engine" and fixed it.

Was going to delete this question, but couldn't see how to do that. Only edits were allowed. Not possible to delete our own posts?

Might be okay, maybe it will help someone else out if they have the same problem.

Hi All,

I created a character with a cape and a bunch of dummy objects in his limbs for physics simulations. I have the character working nicely in once scene. I baked the physics. Done.

Next, I brought the character into a new scene. The soft cloth and all dummy objects imported just fine. I then went to run a physics simulation and got no interaction between dummies and soft cloth.

So I went to the scene manager to see if the various physics toggles needed to be manually reset. I then saw that the physics icon was missing from the icons next to the dummies. So I went up to "Conditions Setting" and saw that "Physics" was indeed ticked. I tried un-ticking it and re-ticking it and hitting "APPLY" no no avail.

I then loaded a "Flag" just to see if the issue had something to do with the fact the dummies and cape are attached to a character (even though this didn't matter in the previous project).

Still, I cannot get the physics condition setting icon to toggle on.

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Bud

Just a few thoughts:

Windows Version? 7,8,or 10
iClone Version?  6.51 or 6.52

Under your "Project" Tab do you in fact have "PhysX" Engine enabled?

If so, in the Scene manager, do the parts of cloth show a "Soft Cloth" Flag in the "Condition" Column ?

Are both iCons on the toolbar showing active?

Are you "Baking the Soft Cloth" ?

Thank you, Cricky,

It was the "Physix" setting. Was set to "Bullit" in the General Settings.

I am thinking about baking the Soft Cloth. Is that a no-no?

Thank you for your help,
Bud
