Im planning to buy Indigo on my next payday. What else do I need to use it with iClone? Can I import a image rendered out from iClone directly into Indigo, without having to buy any other Reallusion plugins like this one http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/3dx/3dx_features_export.aspx ? I understand you need 3DXchange to export 3D formats from iClone, but thats not my purpose using iClone.

If you mean slow rendering, then hardware isnt really an issue here. Im on a Asus ROG G550JK laptop. 12GB ram, i7 4700HQ at 3.0ghz and a Nvidia GeForce 850M 2GB vram.

Besides iClone and the plugin you don't need anything else. However, as it currently is you will not be able to export animation, except for very simple scenes. If your purpose is still images, you will be OK. Rendering is slow though so you have to take that into account. Hence the "Patience" comment. The hope is for an improved iClone plugin and Indigo 4, which renders much faster. An improved plugin is needed because currently iClone exports a complete scene for every frame of animation, which taxes even the most powerful of systems.

So you are saying that I dont need 3DXchange or any other export/imprt plugin to import a still-image rendered from iClone to Indigo?

Ah, I think I misunderstood. You will need the iClone Indigo Render plugin: http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/indigo-render-material.aspx. This comes with a special version of Indigo RT that will only work with scenes exported from iClone. There is a trial version so you can see if it suits you.

Allright, so then I only need Indigo Render Suite? Does that mean that the renderer itself and the plugin comes with that suite?

Great, I was afraid of that I had to spend additional $99+ on another plugin, just to import a still-image from iClone into Indigo. Thanks for the clarification

Great, I was afraid of that I had to spend additional $99+ on another plugin, just to import a still-image from iClone into Indigo. Thanks for the clarification I want to be absolutely clear and make sure I provide correct information. I assume you have iClone 6 already. You will then need to purchase the Indigo Render Suite for $99, which consists of the Render Plugin for iClone and a special version of Indigo RT. Here is the purchase page: http://www.reallusion.com/store/product.html?l=1&p=ic#Indigo. So you do need to purchase something, but that's all you need. The plugin converts the iClone scene into Indigo scene format, which is then rendered by Indigo.
