I want to take an iClone prop and use 3DXchange to create an OBJ to use in Valve's "Destinations" program which imports FBX and OBJ files (I'm using 3dXchange 5.5), and all is well until I import it and there are no materials. Xchange doesn't seem to export any of that information. Is there a way to do that?

Well now that I've dug a bit deeper, I'm seeing that the .JPG files of the textures ARE being exported into the same folder as the .obj file, but destinations is just creating a bunch of .vmat files with nothing but grey as their color. I don't know enough about any of this to understand what ISN'T happening, but if some kind of conversion to .vmat is supposed to take place with the material jpg files, it's clearly not...

Folks, I'm lost. I don't see any of those options, nor any ability to export FBX in version 5.5 pipline of 3Dxchange. The screen you show with regards to OBJ export, I'm just not seeing...

Yep, I don't get this option in version 5.52 - but I'm also realizing that I have the PRO version of that, and not Pipeline. I guess I was in a different place with all this back then and didn't feel I needed the Pipeline version. Still doesn't explain the problem I'm having with the textures of the OBJ file which are exporting as jpg files just fine. Anyway, it's probably more an issue with the Destination Tools and something I just don't know than a problem with 3DXchange.
