Can video be embeded onto a prop in IC3? I know you can do it in IC4..was wondering
if there was a workaround in IC3

Yes and no. It depends on what you will accept under the term "video."

IC3 accepts animated textures. These are essentially video frames flattened into an image grid. You then write a simple .ini file which describes the format of the animation.

Both the diffuse and opacity channels can be animated this way.

I found the process works, but not reliably. Sometimes iClone would neglect my .ini files even when I felt they were compliant. When it does work, you'll know it, because it's cool.

To make the perfect animation grids, I can strongly recommend one of my most valuable tools: GIF Movie Gear.

Here is the Help link:

Do a search for "animated texture"

Thanks but doesnt look like what I want want. I wanted actual video/avi or WMV or some other vid format to embed. Also Im not familiar with writing up the ini file. Never saw any tutorials on it

My alternative was to use a make import the IC movie and add the vid as a layer on top using After EFX or Vegas, but if I pan the camera in the IC movie I dont think the vid will have the right perspective
