Hi,
Directx that is in Windows Pro 64bit Th2 I am certain is backwards compatible with Directx9 yet FF wants to see the dirx9 dll. Thats silly is there anyway of avoiding haveing to install an old version of directx over a new version.

We all know that directx isn't flexible this way and it can lead to many issues.

Please advise

It is perfectly safe to install DirectX 9 alongside DirectX 12 in Windows 10. In fact the vast majority of games and many 3D applications that are over a couple of years old will require DirectX 9. So basically unless you only plan to install the very latest software, it is likely you will need it at some point anyway.
