did you use the c4d bb-8 plugin?
if not, i'm curious about the rigging....



Nope. No C4d. Was modeled as two .obj files, the body and the head then brought into iclone as iprops. Attached together but head remains as separate part so it can be animated independently.  This test, the body just had physics applied so that it would take it's own exploratory path through the terrain which also has physics applied. So there was no rigging required for this render as physics did everything.
I do have another BB8 that is controllable using the old physics toolkit structure of the Segway Physics prop. It works very well as a remote control for the BB8. I'll post a video of that one as well

Here's the render of the remote control BB8 prop using the iclone physics toolkit Segway prop as the remote control for him so you can navigate him around as you see fit.
