Hey Peter,
Is there anything in the works to make resetting your serial number easier? When I had to reconfigure the windows side of my MacBook Pro I almost had a scare there and I think it would make life easier if something like that would happen.

If you always remember to uninstall the software (while connected to the internet), it is unlikely you will ever need to reset your serial number as you will get your install count credited back.
Of course as there are times, such as after a hard disk crash when you won't be able to uninstall and that is why the option is there to request a reset of the serial number should you reach the limit of five installs.
The reset process is pretty painless and only requires contacting support and will normally be resolved within 24 hours or so. I don't know of any plans to change that for now I'm afraid.
