I went to cgtextures.com to look for a texture. When I clicked to download, I was rerouted to textures.com (formerly cgtextures.com) and they charge per download. Oops. That's a nice resource that's taken away.

Worst interface ever... 500 textures available, but you have to go page by page to see them, no search, no grouping of category...  In order to be useful, you have to download the whole collection (2.1 GIG)...




Better interface, but still have to join... Don;t know if they're still free even when joining because I have no desire to join yet another site...

It still has the same thing at the new site they give you 15 free credits per day to download textures.  Just sign in and off you go.  It sounds like you were not signed in. 

They moved the database over etc so just use your old info.  You might need to reset your password.

I don't know about this.. But I just now downloaded from CGTextures just fine.  There is a statement that they are moving, but it still works like it always has.

cricky its on domain forwarded look in your browser you will see that its textures.com they forward you to the new site (its the same site just they fixed it up a bit for mobiles and changed from bandwidth to points)

The point was: The original Title subject still indicates that the textures are NOT free.. when they in fact are.

The New Domain just changed for me this morning; I downloaded 15 images last night from the old domain. Even with the NEW Domain, they still offer FREE images.
