Hi, I am coming back to iClone after a break of a year or two, and I am quite keen to pick up where I left off - which was just getting started with mocap and the Kinect.
However after upgrading iClone and my OS, the old Kinect I was using no longer seems to work.
I have no issue with upgrading the mocap plugin - but I am not sure if it will work with my older Kinect under windows 10 & iClone 6, and I don't want to waste money needlessly. I also have no issue upgrading my hardware but iClone Kinect page only mentions the X-Box one controller (under windows 7 which may or may not be the one I have) and the newer Windows Kinect V1 (under windows 8) but I could only find one Windows Kinect for sale and they wouldn't ship it to Australia. When I checked the Microsoft site it appears that they are merging the two streams - windows and X-Box - and there will be no more Windows Kinect, but that left me with little idea if I should (or even need to) buy a new Kinect for iClone6.
Has anyone got a working Kinect set up under iClone 6 & Windows 10, and if so what are you using?
I have also seen the You tube videos of iClone and the strap on sensors. Does this mean that the Kinect is going to be abandoned by Reallusion as an input device? Should I simply not bother with the Kinect and hope that the new system is released (and that I can afford it) before I actually need to use it in a production?
Sorry I know that some of these have been asked in other threads - but in every thread I followed the discussion on the Kinect and its future with iClone was lost without and answer somewhere along the thread (or I didn't find that thread).
Regards,
Mike
