I have hexagon which I haven't used much and 3DCoat as well which I have used for UV mapping some dresses I made for G5 Gwynn in Shetchup when I was learning about physics cloth when iClone 6 was released. Anyway I saw on another thread a request for a tutorial on manually re-topologising in 3DCoat and I found this one easy to follow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfj6fw7YrHsactually I thought a all of this guys 3DCoat tutorials were really good. Edit oops wrong post

I dont like the autoretopo tool I tend to do manualy retopoogy I absolutely agree. :)I like manual retopo too, because you have control about the topology , but for such whisked objects as shown in the example, is auto OK, I think.

I dont use hexagon but I do use 3dcoat .. I was going to one day make some tutorials because its an excellent tool. I dont like the autoretopo tool I tend to do manualy retopoogy so my tutorials will probably be with manual .. when i get there. I just have to remember to record myself when I am making an object. There are quite a few tutorials on youtube which are pretty good. There is one on making a gun from start to finish which I watched in order to figure out what buttons did what :)
you might want to take a peak gives an idea of the workflow etc etc. its a 5 parter..

Don't worry about the German. That video was a silent speed demo to show the fun to be had with 3D Coat. Cool!
I've seen a Hexagon tutorial by vidi, and I followed it easily even though it was in German. Thank you vidi :) Thank you for the Retopo reference. It's been bookmarked.

I really need a tutorial about material assignment Hexagon UV mapper is not the best , but you have a very good UV Tool in 3D coat :)
But to make Material ID in Hexagon is very easy. select all faces that get its own material Create a new Shader Domain (left Pannel) and name it . Repeat it for all another Faces* if you like (*Polygons) In iClone or 3D xchange now you can choose all this ID in the material setting Pannel to assign your materials
