Been a long time Daz fan and PC member,  for the first time Reallusion has me considering the need for a PC membership. If the character designer and ZBrush plugin work as promised we can create and skin pretty much any human type character inside IClone.

Hope we don't have to wait to much longer to get our creative hands dirty :P

I whole Heartedly agree! I am a Zbrush user and I am pretty green with Iclone but I love it. I think its the most complete animation package out there. I look forward to a GOZ plugin for zbrush and all the new toys they promise to bring us for Xchange and IClone!!!

I posted req's non-stop at Daz begging them to do something with their God awful animation capabilities in DS, and was completely ignored. I'm really hoping Reallusion does this right then I'll be a total convert.

Looks very cool.

On the matter of "realism", I agree with earlier comment that it would be a shame if proportions of body parts can't be adjusted to meet the demands of realism  in animation and design. But I'll go one step further and say it would be a shame if these characters are missing genital anatomy because we're all meant to be ashamed of our own (or whatever reason for not having these parts). It would be good to make Roman statues or similar with proper and realistic human anatomy. Other applications such as medical imagery - missing body parts then becomes a joke itself if everything else is realistic. But even for art and design sake, lack of male parts means there's no bulge down there.. depending on the clothing. I suppose I could attach an object there or something if needed, but would be better to have it as part of the model. Would the clothing even conform to added geometry?

Anyway.. it all looks promising regardless of the castrated male look! So much for our big hero characters with huge muscles and warrior tattoos ... They will need high-pitch voices to match their unfortunate condition!

It is not always an issue of modesty... The male nude model does have a bulge that is probably sufficient for most clothed situations.  Further detail would probably just be "extra" polygons that merely add complexity to the avatar without improving anything for 99+% of the animations.

However, you make a good case for having it available for those who need more detail.

well Redrum.. i would agre with you in that matter. the demand for realism, and the lack of.. or the desire not to have cretain realism, is indeed interesting. But, not to long ago. there was a big ho down about that very subject, involving a content devoloper's desire to provide such a thing. all hell broke lose, upon the fear of someone making porn movies using iclone. or un-supervised children seeing such material in the marketplace. of course fear, and shame always rules the day. and besides.. if one would desire to make porns, iclone would be the worst program in the world to do such a thing. the limitations of the skin mesh, and restraints on character movement, would not allow such a thing to happen. or at least, make it look way to stupid. deformations in the mesh would blow the whole effect.. bad enough characters get deformed trying to do complex movements in iclone to begin with. let alone trying to make a silly porn.. geez.. anyway, good luck trying to get that done.. or thru.. i'm just happy being able to get the simple things in iclone done..

Holy Moses...... I feel like I'm the only one on Planet iClone.

After reading the first few posts and  seeing a collective of bitching sessions and further on the thread's become nothing more than a hyper "mildly associated" wish list with leanings towards habitual alternate software accustomisations....

I'll just remind people what the post is about.
Watch the video again. jeez.

BRILLIANT!
I think this is stunning. From the perspective of an Animator, NOT a modeller.......  but as an Animator, this tool is incredible and very required.
I take it it's external to iClone and then we import the edited Avatar straight into iClone? So will be a purchased add-on.
It's a step closer to that Poser realism.
We don't always want realistics BUT, even in Avatarical "Realism" they still look like avatars.
Perhaps we should transpose the word realistic for Beautiful.

The ageing process is a stunner. I love it.  THAT in itself is something unique to my imagination with iClones direction. I didn't expect that.
The way the body sags and literally the muscles droop and tin out. Superb. I didn't notice if it also bent the spine accordingly in a hunch. is that coming?
The decorative measures for the face makes it easier for the newcomer, I can understand that, and the blending of colours.... I think...... was Super. I like that.
Strange that you haven't incorporated the smoothing into the Engine. Are you going to do this. Purely for the sake of cosmetics and visual finalities???
When you're working on makeup you want that smooth edge so that you can watch the shadow line.

Overall I thought this was incredibly appealing  to see such a large step in Avatar Generation and I look forwards to using it a lot.
Congratulations to the programmers. It must be really exciting to see something this massive start to take a v.1.0 shape.
