I would check your resolution of your PNG images.  CTA even includes a couple of stock characters built entirely out of images as opposed to vectors (SWF), and on my system they look pretty good.

I've been trying to cut the body appropriately into little parts so that those will be fit into CTA sprite based on CTA angle requirement (0 degree, 45 degree, 90 degree, etc), however I realized that the final results are .png files, and CTA requires .swf or vector based files to work with the sprites

This might be a misunderstanding.  CTA2 does not REQUIRE vectors.  You can use image formats just fine, assuming you're doing the piece by piece replacement in the Character Composer.  Even if you're using pipeline, you can use images in your Flash Template to import all at once.  There is no actual REQUIREMENT for vectors.

Oh, I'm sorry, CTA is indeed can support other format as well, but when I used .png files to replace the sprite body parts (which I've cut them from .png files that I got from daz's render files) the visual quality is pretty bad (compared with original sprites from CTA), I guess I have to change the resolution or change the .png files format into vector first before moving them into CTA :)

I work with genesis 1 characters. I am glad Genesis2 offers you natural eyebrows in toon shader.
Converting to vector file should not be difficult. Flash, Corel, Adobe Illustrator all Trace image files and Convert to Vector files and all of them also export to SWF.
But I am surprised CTA2 does not entertain PNG !

Pwtoon is based on 3Delight render engine.
You have to use eyebrow object.
Create or search for independent eyebrows for daz.
Dont apply pwtoon to eyes. Daz gives you power to customize every body part. Use anime eyes .
Please update your daz-cta2 character conversion with pwtoon. I am very interested to see the result.

These are few samples from final render:

btw these toons above are genesis 2 based and the eyebrows are comes naturally with it :)

Cheers.

So, I've been using the pwtoon shader from Daz, and cel shaders and this is the result:

definitely still need to tweak the setting a little bit (especially the eyes and the eyebrows). I was using 3delight render mode. The IRAY one looks like this for comparison:

WIth 3delight and PWtoons, the basic result (using snazzy toon from PWtoon shader) looks like this one:

Daz has beautiful Cartoon Shaders like PWToon etc. Now they have Toon Shaders for IRAY too.
It also has a built-in Free Toon Shader called "Orange Toon" . Use the shaders to create beautiful Flat Toon Shades and Outlines for your characters before you export.

Till now, it's obvious.
But I am keen to know your work process after you export the PNG.

How do you get the individual body parts to use them in CTA2?
Particularly Eyes for expressions and Mouth Shapes for the lip sync ?

Hi!
to get individual body parts to use them in CTA2, I will closely look on these tutorials:

CrazyTalk Animator 2 Tutorial - Character Composer

CrazyTalk Animator 2 Tutorial - Creating a Character from a 2D Image

Thanks for your suggestions on using shaders (pwtoon, orange toon, etc), really appreciate it!
Will post when I have something soon!

Cheers.

Hi, is there anyone who experimenting with Daz Studio to make characters on CTA2?

I've been experimenting using Daz Studio, render the t-pose image and got .png files.

The image results from Daz Studio can become very smooth or rough depends on the render settings.

The problem arise when I'm trying "cartoonize" the characters before it's ready to be deployed on CTA2.

Does anyone knows how to "cartoonize" any photos to become CTA-like-characters?
The similar samples of the raw images may looks like on this url:
https://www.google.com/search?q=human+male+t-pose&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=3qGKVfy-AsyOuATbuYLQBw&ved=0CBoQsAQ

Cheers.

PS:
I'm using photoshop ATNs that I've bought from a certain site to convert the photos, still working on it.
