It would be extremely useful to be able to actually transform items in 3D space.
Example. make a wall and be able to rotate and transform it in 3d space, maybe event link several basic planes together to contruct all sorts of 3d gemotry such as buildings.
Or be able to draw a large plane for the floor and actually place it on the ground plane for characters and objects to walk on it.
If collision detection or some sort of boundary masks can be placed on objects you can do things like ensure a character is always walking on a plane, or throw things around and cause them to maybe bounce off, stop, or do other things like adjust visibility.
