Apparently it has to go AFTER the map name
which is really no help using find and replace in notepad
in notepad+ I could select all the lines with bump in them and get them in a list below those I could copy and add -bm 0.2 after jpg but how to get them back modified into the main text elludes me
a spreadsheet might do it if I had clever Libre office skills but alas I am too stupid :w00t:

@pumeco: this actually concerns the .MTL file that goes with an .OBJ file when importing it in 3DXchange.

@Wendy: I see what you mean. I tried adding the parameter setting, but it has no effect and removes the bump map.

I'm hoping that once they start on the physically based stuff (PBR), this will all change.

I really hope so because not having seperately adjustable channels for the Bump and Displacement is a bit too much to swallow. I didn't notice it at first, but it's a deal breaker for me, I never expected such a thing to go missing!

according to wikipedia -bm # denotes the value of a bump map in a mtl file
I have tried find and replace for _Bump with _Bump -bm 0.3 and all sorts of crazy edits but all either result in no bump map or no maps at all.
am going nuts
3dxchange annoyingly imports most bump maps at 100% 33% is reasonable
it does not allow me to do all surfaces at once and some things have 100's of textures

ideally Reallusion should ad multi select functionality to map values like they have on other parameters but I am trying to work with what we have been dealt.
