Since a few weeks (I don't know exactly when), the HDR effect in iClone 5 no longer works, both in the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. As I had just updated my NVidia display driver, I reverted to the previous version, but that did not fix it, so I went back to the latest driver. I then uninstalled iClone 5, rebooted, and reinstalled using the full version of IC5. That did not fix it either. I don't know exactly what else I could try. I know IC6 is around the corner, and hopefully it will import IC5 projects just fine, after which this is a moot point. But it is still weird... EDIT: This has been solved---HDR was switched off in Preference settings.

That's odd indeed. Hopefully you'll find a solution that works (and looks) even better. That bit coming through the window on your picture in the other thread was one of the few times it has looked good (to me).

What exactly "doesn't work", Job? See Screenshot: Peter, it makes no difference to the scene whether I have the HDR option checked or not or when I change the HDR value. So instead of the rather dramatic--- I get the much tamer--- It still worked a few weeks ago and I have not been able to track down a reason.

from my system, it's pointing to the nvidia update ......Microsoft did release an update today, that fixed some other issues that apparently their last update caused .....but the issues that i got after the nvidia update, remained the same. I may have to reinstall iclone to get the 64 bit version working again, my 32 bit version was unaffected. it's hard to pin point it though, because after the microsoft update my magnifier stopped working....it's working again now after todays patch....maybe they broke something that only a re-install can fix ...will keep you posted if i find anything...for now I'm leaving it be to see if microsoft or nvidia issue any further updates ....i'd hate to attempt fixing something that I can't fix because the error is beyond my reach - i once almost wrecked my pc trying to fix an error microsoft caused and later fixed with a patch.

When I switched on my computer yesterday morning it decided to lock me out for an hour or so for Microsoft auto update routines. When, finally, I was able to get into IC5, I was horrified that there seemed to be severe “display” problems. I had only recently upgraded to the latest Nvida drivers in anticipation of IC6 and everything had previously been functioning normally. After much wailing and nashing of teeth I discovered a setting which I cannot ever remember having to access before on the Nvidia Control panel. It had a default “auto select” setting for graphics processor. Through this, Iclone now seemed to have reverted to using the integrated graphics instead of the high performance Nvidia card. I had to specifically add the IC5 program to “customise” and then apply the “select the preferred graphics processor to Nvidia” routine. Much to my relief this restored IC5 to full working order. Never had to do that before but glad it worked. Maybe I will need to add IC6, when it arrives, in a similar way to bypass the “auto select graphics processor” and ensure it knows to access my Nvidia card. Geoff.

interesting, you just helped me resolve my issue too...thanks..... Seems that I had to update my settings on my virtual graphic card link software - now it works fine.

Other Pixel-shading effects still work, so iClone is using the card. HDR also still works in iClone 4, which makes me think it can't be simply a driver issue.
