Hi All,
One thing I've noticed in my iClone clips, and most of the ones I find on YouTube, is that the animation speeds up and slows down, sometimes awkwardly. For a number of reasons, I think it's hard to get the pacing just right while doing the animating.
So, now I have many rendered scenes and I'm compiling/editing them in Premiere.
I'm debating whether to fix the pacing by going back into iClone and reanimating -- OR -- time-remapping the clips in Premiere to achieve the desired speeds and pacing.
I'm wondering what others have done and what their experience may have been?
Better to go back, re-animate the pacing, and re-render? Or, if you're moving toward a final edit, use time-remapping in the NLE?
Thoughts?

It will depend a bit on what else is in the scene. I would choose to re-animate.
If you're attaching your avatar to a path, set the translate speed along the path first, and then put in the walk loop. This way you can balance all the translates in the scene to be at the same rate.
Using the Right-Click/Walk, the speed is always the same. That's what I do. It also can be stretched/shortened in the timeline for speed changes, and will stay synced.
My rule is that path attaching is generally not for avatars, unless you need them to walk upside-down or something.

You could try to adjust in Premiere first and see what it looks like. Then, if it doesn't work, you can try to reanimate. I haven't really run into that problem and been able to make adjustments before final rendering.

My rule is that path attaching is generally not for avatars, unless you need them to walk upside-down or something. I'll keep that in mind. I have been doing it both ways, depending on the situation. BTW, I used your "smile" expression the other day in a scene -- one of a dozen or so expressions you shared with me last year. Thought I'd let you know. Pulled it right out of my "From Rampa" folder ;-) Thank you! Peace, Bud

Thank you, Animagic, I haven't played with time-remapping yet (for iClone renders). For now, I'll keep going back and re-rendering. What I'm finding is I need to fix other things anyway. My next project will go much, much smoother after all I've learned on this one. Really cutting my teeth with iClone on this one. Peace, Bud
